CVCLT Public Meeting: Priced out of Renting in the Calder Valley? - The Waterfront Hall

Monday 12th February 2024
Doors at 7pm
Free

Calder Valley Community Land Trust presents the next in their series of public meetings on the topic Housing: It’s an Issue.
Many people in the valley are struggling to find affordable and secure rented accommodation. What is an affordable rent? How can we create more affordable rented homes? Come and listen to our speakers and share your ideas.

CVCLT say: “Calder Valley Community Land Trusts has, and is, creating more affordable rented homes through a wide range of methods. We do this because we hear from people every week who are at risk of losing their rented home or who can't find affordable rented homes. This is your chance to hear fantastic speakers sharing their experiences and ideas around affordability. And we want to hear from you.

“Affordable rented homes are created from these meetings. Our 2023 public meetings led to us creating an affordable rented home that will be available in the summer and led to a donation of land with housing potential.”

Speakers:

Tom Archer, Senior Research Fellow, Housing and Community at Sheffield Hallam University

Cath Miller, Homelessness Manager – Strategy at Calderdale Council

Nicola Kyser-Forrest, Homelessness Service Manager at Calderdale Council

Dom Furby, former CEO of Calderdale SmartMove
